Responder Team

Here to help the Rushmoor Community

Would you like to join the RVS Responder Team?

Are you interested in becoming more involved in the local community but don’t have the time to commit to a weekly volunteering slot? Or are you looking for a variety of exciting volunteering opportunities without a regular commitment? Or do you work but have time to give in the evening or at the weekend? Then becoming an RVS Responder could be the perfect volunteering opportunity for you!

Joining the RVS Responder Team means that we will contact you regarding one-off and other volunteering opportunities in the local community as they arise. You only need to respond if the opportunity catches your eye and suits your availability. You liaise directly with the organisation who is seeking the volunteers.

Opportunities include a whole range of community events such as a music festival, a Remembrance service, a summer fete, sports events, arts activities, litter picks, Christmas event or conservation day. You will also be able to access a range of training, well-being and social activities through our Thrive Together programme (online and face-to-face).

Please see here for the Responder Volunteer Role Profile and this Online Application Form to apply.

If you have any queries or require more information, please contact our Community Development Officer – msc@rvs.org.uk

Do you need volunteers for your community events?

Our team of RVS responder volunteers is available to our members to help with bitesize (one-off) community events and activities in Rushmoor. Examples include summer fetes, sports events, fetes, music festivals, art events, conservation days, Christmas events, litter picks and cultural activities.

We send the bitesize opportunities out to our responders via email and on our responder newsletter. Our responders then pick and choose the opportunities that interest them and suit their availability. We welcome your feedback after the event.

If you would like to use our lovely team for one of your events, we ask you to:

  • Complete this Online Form which includes confirmation that the RVS Responders will come under your insurance for the event or activity.
  • Follow volunteer best practice. For example: provide equipment and clothing if required, create volunteer badges, provide a volunteer briefing at the start and have someone as a point of contact throughout the event.
