Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme

Please note: If you wish to attend any of the RVS training courses, you will need to complete an online booking.

We are the local provider for Minibus Driver Assessment courses, which enable drivers to hire RVS minibuses.

MiDAS (Mini-Bus Driver Awareness Scheme) Standard and Accessible Certificates / Refresher Courses

Refreshers: Please note that we have reviewed our MiDAS programme, and the format may have changed since your last course.

COURSE TYPE  SUITABILITY 
Day 1: All Delegates Aimed at both refresher & first time MiDAS drivers including those who transport passengers with mobility issues and in wheelchairs
Day 2: Accessible/Accessible Refresher Delegates Aimed at both refresher & first time Accessible MiDAS drivers who transport passengers with mobility issues and in wheelchairs
Day 1: All Delegates Aimed at both refresher & first time MiDAS drivers including those who transport passengers with mobility issues and in wheelchairs
Day 2: Accessible/Accessible Refresher Delegates Aimed at both refresher & first time Accessible MiDAS drivers who transport passengers with mobility issues and in wheelchairs

 

COSTS

  • Standard is TBC for RVS members and TBC for Non-Members (New drivers get more time in the mini bus plus a handbook)
  • Accessible is TBC for RVS members and TBC for Non-Members
  • Standard Refresher Course is TBC for RVS Members and TBC for Non-Members
  • Accessible Refresher Course is TBC for RVS Members and TBC for Non-Members
  • Those who are doing a Refresher Course will need to bring their MiDAS manuals with them on the day. If not, you will be charged TBC for a new one.

TIMINGS/VENUE

Day 1: All Delegates

8.45am – approx. 5pm, based at our offices in Farnborough, with theory in the morning and a practical driving assessment in the afternoon.

Day 2: Accessible Delegates

8.45am – 1pm theory & practical. Driving assessment slots from 1pm. There may be space for Standard driving assessments for those who can’t wait on day 1.

The morning sessions are fixed times. Driving assessment times in the afternoons can be flexible – please speak to your trainer on the day.

CANCELLATIONS

If for any unforeseen reason you need to cancel your place on a course, at least 7 days notice is required. If the cancellation is made with less than 7 days notice, the charge for the course may still be made. Exceptional circumstances will be considered.
