Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS)

Improving minibus safety by working with your organisation to improve driver standards. 

We are a local provider for MiDAS across Rushmoor & Hart Districts.  A MiDAS qualification is essential to drive an RVS minibus.  

As a MiDAS minibus driver, you will:

• Receive up-to-date training in the skills and information needed to drive a minibus
• Have your driving competence assessed to a county-wide standard
• Be able to drive a minibus for any MiDAS member without needing to be reassessed

Both the Standard & Accessible courses are a combination of on-line theory and practical skills assessments.  The “Accessible” course is available for those needing to drive the accessible vehicles and operate the tail lift/secure wheelchairs.

We now have our own in-house MiDAS trainer giving us much more flexibility with training dates for both Accessible and Standard courses.  Please contact us at midas@rvs.org.uk to arrange for a mutually convenient date (maximum number of learners is 3).  Alternatively you can complete a registration form and return this to us and we will contact you with a date.

COSTS

• Standard is £125.00 for RVS members and £130.00 for Non members + £40.00 for on-line learning pass
• Accessible is £150.00 for RVS member and £175.00 for Non members + £40.00 for on-line learning pass

CANCELLATIONS

If for any unforeseen reason you need to cancel your place on a course, at least 14 days’ notice is required in order for the course fee to be refunded.  For cancellations with less than 14 days’ notice, if we are unable to fill the cancelled space the full course fee applies.
