Rushmoor Volunteering Fair 2023
The Rushmoor Volunteering Fair in Princes Mead on 26th September was a great success with a range of local organisations attending to promote their volunteering opportunities to the wider public. These included Home-Start Hampshire, Citizens Advice Rushmoor, SSAFA, Innovation Volunteers (Hampshire County Council), the Royal British Legion, Rowhill Nature Reserve, Guide Dogs, Life Charity, Rushmoor Repair Café, Hart and Rushmoor Young Carers, Love4Life, Barnardo’s, Friends of Queen Elizabeth Park, Parity for Disability, Younger People with Dementia, NeighbourCare Farnborough and the Alzheimer Café. It was very busy and lots of people spoke to us who hadn’t thought about volunteering before. We also spoke to lots of people about the wide range of volunteering opportunities available on the Volunteer North Hampshire website.
We would like to thank all the RVS Responders who helped on the day as well as the organisations such as the local Job Centres, Hart Voluntary Action and Farnborough Sixth Form who came along to talk to the organisations about potential volunteering opportunities. Finally, we would like to thank Princes Mead for hosting the event for us and making everyone feel so welcome.
