Volunteers’ Week – A Time to Say Thanks – from 1st to 7th June 2023

01/06/2023

Volunteers Week takes place from 1st-7th June every year. It’s a chance to recognise the fantastic contribution volunteers make to our communities and say a big thank you to them all.

Volunteers’ Week 2023 is a time to celebrate and inspire. Its aim is to highlight that our diversity is our strength, to show that there’s more than one way to volunteer and to encourage people to be the change that we want to see. Volunteers are always active at the heart of every UK community. So taking the time during Volunteers’ Week to celebrate and recognise their efforts and all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector and society as a whole has never been more important.

We will be celebrating all the wonderful volunteering in Rushmoor through the Volunteer Recognition  Awards on June 8th to link in with both Volunteers’ Week and the Month of Community which runs throughout June. We received over 50 nominations across the following categories:-

  • Art, Culture and Heritage
  • Community Service
  • Disability, Health and Well-Being
  • Environment
  • Sports and Recreation
  • Unsung Hero or Good Neighbour
  • Young Volunteer (under 25)

These Rushmoor Volunteer Recognition Awards have been organised by Rushmoor Voluntary Services and Rushmoor Borough Council. The Awards Booklet will be published on this website after the event so that you can find out more about all the fantastic volunteers who received an award!
