Disability, Accessibility and Inclusion Champions
The Disability and Accessibility category celebrates volunteers who tirelessly advocate for inclusion, dignity, and equal access for all
Recognising volunteers who make Rushmoor more inclusive by improving accessibility, promoting understanding and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to take part in community life.
For example:
- Supporting disability organisations, neurodivergent people and their support groups
- Improving accessibility through practical changes, education or advocacy
- Raising awareness and understanding of disability, neurodivergence or additional needs
- Supporting people to access community activities, services or education
- Offering practical or emotional support to neighbours or community members with additional needs
- Organising informal support networks for parents, carers or families
- Helping create welcoming environments where everyone feels included and valued
