We would like to welcome you all to the 2023 Rushmoor Community in Bloom Awards results and photos from the awards evening on the 18th September. Many of you will be aware that Rushmoor have a long history of taking part in the Britain in Bloom initiative organised by the Royal Horticultural Society.
Last year, local authority pressures and COVID saw a pause in the Borough’s involvement but we are pleased to say that Rushmoor Voluntary Services have now taken on the community co-ordination role. So, the 2023 event sees some small changes, together with a new impetus and a determination to see what works for our community.
The RHS national gudiance for Britain in Bloom competitions has emphasised the importance of environmental friendly horticulture. Judging in all categories has looked at sustainability, water conservation, plant diversity and wildlife friendly planting, as well as impact and creativity.

In addition to the support the event has received across the community, we are incredibly grateful for the support of our sponsors who have enabled the re-launch to take place.
Gardening in all its forms and scale is good for our physical and mental health – and we are continually reminded of the important of responsible horticulture to the health of our planet. Supporting initiatives like Rushmoor Community in Bloom enables us to display what is good in the everyday things around us, which all contribute to our sense of wellbeing and reflect on our ‘Pride of Place’ in Rushmoor.
We have been hugely impressed by the quality and creativity of this year’s participants. Well done to you all, and we hope we can build on this experience for the future.
Thanks for your continued support
