Dial-a-Ride is a door-to-door service using buses specially adapted with handrails, low steps and wheelchair lifts, for anyone who finds it difficult/impossible to use the ordinary bus service. You don’t have to be registered disabled, you might, for instance, have difficulty walking to the bus stop.
Where can I go?
All journeys must be pre-booked but then you can go anywhere within the Rushmoor area. On certain days the buses go to places outside the normal area, e.g. The Meadows.
We regret that we cannot take you to hospital/doctor appointments or day centres
What does it cost?
Due to the door-to-door nature of the service fares may be slightly more than a standard bus, but cheaper than taxis. You can also pay by using the travel tokens available from Rushmoor Borough Council.
If you have an essential escort (e.g. to push your Wheelchair) they may travel free. You will need to state this requirement on your registration form and explain why the escort is necessary.
How does it work?
You need to register. Call 0845 6024135 between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Saturdays and request a registration form or download one from this website. Complete the form and return it. Once you have been notified that you are registered, you can call the above number to make a booking. The call centre staff will do their best to give you the pick-up time you request, although this is not always possible.
DON’T BE HOUSE BOUND IF YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE.
