What does RVS do?
Based in Farnborough, RVS is the Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) for the Borough of Rushmoor. We are here to help increase the skills and capacity of local voluntary and community groups. We can provide free information, advice and support to enable you to help local people in Farnborough, Aldershot and the surrounding area.

| We help voluntary groups through the process of starting up, writing constitutions, applying for grants, low-cost training and registering as a Charity. We can provide basic office facilities, use of equipment and access to other resources including funding software, digital projector and photocopying. | |
| Liaison | |
| We are here to build communication both within the sector and between it and the statutory and private sectors. We hold regular events including our Voluntary Sector Day and the Voluntary Sector Forum which meets regularly in Farnborough or Aldershot . | |
| Representation | |
| Locally we work closely with Rushmoor Borough Council and Health Authorities to enable the views of the sector to be heard in places where services and service delivery are shaped. We also work closely with Hampshire County Council and other partners to increase communication between statutory and voluntary organisations. | |
| Development Work | |
| A large part of our work is around identifying gaps in provision and devising new ways that these needs can be met, whether this involves forming new groups or helping established groups to work in a different and more effective way. | |
| Strategic Partnerships | |
| Working together is a well established principle for the sector and we are following this in our work with wider partnerships eg the Rushmoor Strategic Partnership. We are also involved in county wide networks with the other CVS and Volunteer Centres in Hampshire plus regional networks of other infrastructure organisations. | |
